Charcoal on paper. This is a meditative self portrait study on the importance of being rooted with a strong foundation, but also having the wings to fly. Both are necessary within ones self. Created as the final project from Advanced Figure Drawing.

Artist Statement
I am passionate about making beautiful objects of art, I am passionate about making things that cause someone to smile, laugh, cry, think or just enjoy. I believe art and design are what makes life enjoyable. I am an artist and designer because there is no other option. It is in the fabric of my being and I hope to inspire those around me with creation.
