This piece is oil on canvas. The inspiration for this piece was how people hide behind a front that they feel is more socially acceptable. They push this version of themselves and no one gets to see what is behind the wall that they put up.

Artist Statement
I am a mostly self taught artist. I took a few High School art classes, but our programs weren't very good. I ended up doing a lot of learning through experience and watching YouTube videos. I have been oil painting for a little over a year now, and portraits and figures are my favorite things to paint. There is something magical about capturing the emotions of your subjects in the artwork. I am currently attending SLCC as a concurrent enrollment student, but I am attending a liberal arts college starting this fall.
