What we are used to seeing in our daily life can look extraordinarily beautiful and extraterrestrial when we pay close attention to it. This is a macro image of a bubble. However, as the title implies, for me this is a planet in space.

Artist Statement
Having Japanese cultural background and living in the States for several years, my perspective is quite unique, because my vision is a fusion of strong Orientalism and Western culture.
I have practiced tea ceremony, calligraphy, abacus, drawing, piano for many years, and I have a strong multi-cultural background. In Japanese, the word 道(Dou) means "The way of". In Japan, I had the opportunity to practice 書道(Shodou - calligraphy) and 茶道 (Sadou - tea ceremony). These "ways" not only focus on the method but also has deep spiritual meaning. That same focus on method and spiritualism flow out of my works.
