This is a Reductive Monotype done with ink on plexiglass. This was my first attempt at the reductive process. I chose not to trace my reference photo, because I wanted to enlarge the owl to fill the composition better. I lightly sketched some basic outlines with the tip of my brush handle, and then did all of the details with small paint brushes.
