Vitruvian man
This sectional lantern, fired with high reduction yellow ochre oxides, is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's drawing of a male figure perfectly inscribed in a circle and square, known as the "Vitruvian Man," which illustrates what he believed to be a divine connection between the human form and the universe. Along with the Greek architectural Parthenon Temple on the back of the lantern. Both known for their golden proportions of the circle inside a square along with their beauty and symbolic power in history.

Artist Statement
As a student and a learner, I want to be capable of recognizing the development I have made over the course of my art education, I have done a great deal of exploring different mediums from drawing and painting, to photography and printmaking, but I plan to attend a University to participate in a Bachelor of Fine Arts program for Ceramics and Sculpture, eventually becoming a teacher in secondary education. I believe time to be extremely valuable, and I can not imagine a better way to spend it other than doing something that is never-ending. There are no restrictions, the ideas and creations are limitless so I am excited for what the future holds to continue this journey of self-exploration, and growth through the world of art.
