Delilah

Delilah , 3D Design
Delilah
In the biblical tale of Samson and Delilah, Samson (meaning Sun) possesses great vigor and impeccable strength. And Delilah (meaning Night) living in a patriarchy world, just as the night overcomes day, she was able to overcome the apparently invincible strong man Samson. As a young feminist, creating Delilah proved a type of supremacy, a large and alluring piece of art, with a white crackle raku finish, overcoming competition, not only literally but figuratively. Whether Delilah was treacherous in her history or not, she was powerful with great intellect, giving an example of women’s powerful capabilities.

Artist Statement
As a student and a learner, I want to be capable of recognizing the development I have made over the course of my art education, I have done a great deal of exploring different mediums from drawing and painting, to photography and printmaking, but I plan to attend a University to participate in a Bachelor of Fine Arts program for Ceramics and Sculpture, eventually becoming a teacher in secondary education. I believe time to be extremely valuable, and I can not imagine a better way to spend it other than doing something that is never-ending. There are no restrictions, the ideas and creations are limitless so I am excited for what the future holds to continue this journey of self-exploration, and growth through the world of art.
